Parent Coaching and Family Counseling

Parent Coaching

When we feel disconnected from our child, it throws our lives into chaos.

Even if you feel you have tried it all, there is a way to improve your communication with and connection to your child. In sessions, we identify and practice skills that will allow your relationship with your child to mature as they do. This will include tools to increase your ability to bring firmness and compassion to your parenting style.

My therapeutic approach informs my meetings with parents. I keep my focus on building a strong relationship which allows me to offer meaningful and constructive reflections. Most importantly, I don’t place blame on any individual person, but instead identify each person’s role and new ways to engage in a healthier path forward.

Coaching can help parents:

  • Confront and respond to behavioral issues of children

  • Improve communication and connection

  • Resolve long-standing conflicts

  • Relieve tensions

  • Co-parent in the face of divorce

  • Unify blended families

  • Prepare for a child’s return from wilderness therapy or inpatient treatment

Families come in many shapes and sizes and the solutions to their disconnection are not one size fits all. Parent coaching can address the unique and sometimes conflicting desires between children and their parents and help them chart a new path forward.
